HELP US REACH MORE DEAF
THE MINISTRY IS GROWING, but we need your help!
As we seek to bring language, community, and the Gospel to the Deaf in Western Honduras, one of our greatest challenges is reliable transportation.
The mountain roads are rough, and traveling to remote communities can be hard on both passengers and vehicles. Yet these roads lead us to Deaf children and adults who need language, community, and the hope of the Gospel.
We want to reach more deaf individuals, but we need a vehicle that will help us get there.
THE NEED
Currently, Two Hands Ministry owns one vehicle and have access to one other vehicle (thanks to our missionary partners) to provide transportation needed to run our ministry programs. As the ministry grows and we seek to minister to more deaf individuals in the surrounding mountain communities, we are faced with a dilemma: getting to them.
Our current transportation situation limits our ability to expand the ministry.
THE OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking to add a 9-seat Toyota Land Cruiser to our ministry fleet.
This vehicle will allow us to safely transport more people than we currently can with our pickup trucks and will provide the durability needed for the rugged roads of western Honduras.
Toyota Land Cruisers are built to handle the terrain we encounter—but they are also a significant investment.
The good news is that Toyota offers special pricing to qualifying nonprofit organizations. Instead of the typical market price of over $76,000 USD, we have received a quote for a base price of less than $32,000 USD for a Land Cruiser 76 series.
The base price is for the skin and bones of the vehicle, but with the customizations needed to make it mountain worthy and serve the ministry to its best potential (including roof rack, back up camera, second battery, additional bumper, etc.) we are looking at raising $48,000 USD.
